Eighteenth Century Ephemera

A friend brought this reproduction ‘petit livre’ home for me from England years ago.    It’s still filled with my garden notes from the mid 1990s, and lovely engravings of deer and sheep filled manors and mansions straight from an Austen novel…

...remember the letter ‘f’ was used the way we use ‘s’, even though it may sound like a lisp in your head!

Check out my new Flickr badge far down in my sidebar filled with my favorite Rococo artists including Fragonard, Boucher, and Gainsborough.   This one is one of my favorites because she has a little Maltese!

Jusqu'à la fois suivante, restez shabby!

OH how sweet that puppy does look like ZuZu. You are really doing great with your blog. I can see that you have REALLY been working on it. LOVE IT! I shared it with my friend Karen over at My Dessert Cottage. She will be hosting her Share Your Studio Event again early this summer. You HAVE to join it so everyone can see the wonder of your beautiful studio. Have a wonderful weekend. HUGS Charlene

That's beautiful! I'm such a sucker for all things English because I'm English and we left there when I was only 8...sniffle sniffle. But we left in the incredibly tacky late 70's so most of my memories are of orange and brown wallpaper:)

Hi Sandy,
What a beautiful book from your friend filled with loads of ephemera. I love your children on your sidebar, the four of them are precious! I so wish I could have another dog, but will have to do w/one very large, big hearted one for now. I see Charlene above has mentioned Karen over at My Desert Cottage. You've got to join her event, it was a blast last year filled with inspiration. Happy weekend, I'm off to a Barn Sale!
